Believe it or not writing the monthly newsletter is one of my
more challenging tasks. I want it to be
interesting, engaging, and at the same time brief. Each month as I see the “task” approaching in
my calendar I start to feel the pressure.
What should I write about? Then,
like magic, the idea comes, and it all flows.
This month that didn’t happen.
I
had a couple of topics in mind, but as I started to write them my intuition
said no. Next, I decided to put it out
to social media. I received several ideas
which you will see below. And then this
morning my own idea came, so now I have a newsletter!!
On another note of interest, I have several out-of-town
workshops scheduled for the summer (my Summer Tour??). There will be a mix of nutrition, yoga (The

The Top Suggestions for Articles
Thanks for the suggestions for newsletter topics! Interestingly enough a majority of the ideas
had to do with exercise/fitness particularly for the summer. One of my potential themes for this issue was
sports nutrition. I had even begun the
article:
“With the arrival of
summer many of us become more active.
From the leisurely walker to the marathon runner it is important for all
to watch their nutrition.”
However, nutrition for athletes is different than a general discussion
of fitness. I discuss exercise with all
my clients and provide suggestions.
Interestingly enough, I have not written an article on it. I have more research to do to write a
meaningful article – so that will be the topic for next month!
Another suggestion was an article about changing your yoga routine for
the hot weather. Yes – that is
advisable. Yoga practices should be
developed not only for the season of the year, but with the time of day as
well. I’m sure Yoga Journal or Elephant
Yoga has some great information along those lines.
One other idea I liked was “the importance of acting today. Having a
sense of urgency and changing your life.”
The Summer Rerun
Summer is the season of the TV reruns.
Growing up I remember that during the summer you were given a second chance
to see the best shows of the year that you may have missed. Remember this was way before the days of the
DVR and other home video recording devices.
If you missed it, you missed it, unless the networks were nice enough to
show it to you again.
Throughout the course of the year I offer many “programs” here in the
newsletter. It is likely that you’ll not
see them all, yet they are still important.
Fortunately the “rerun” is available for you to see at any time!
So, in case you missed them, here are a few programs worth watching (so
to speak)!
I began the fall with a series of articles reviewing the basics of
nutrition. I would encourage you all to
read them. These are the universal
truths about the foods we eat and what they do in our bodies.
The next series was the simple things we could learn by observing our
own body, particularly our nails and our skin.
The next group of articles addressed some of the major nutrition myths –
The China Study, superfoods, and antioxidants.
Take the time to go back and enjoy these articles.
